I thought it would never happen!

No no, I still have yet to find the man of my dreams. What happened was... (drumroll please) I cast on a new project!!! WoooHooo!!! After many months of finishing projects (okay, really it was only 28 days but it felt like months), I finally feel comfortable with the quantity on needles. Meaning, I finished up another project today. That damn Irish Hiking Scarf is getting sent to it's receipient this week (lol it was a Christmas gift!) and that meant I could start the Rebecca sweater. Sweater #15 Hooded Sweater with Lace Patter was cast on with Cascade EcoWool in Natural.

No pictures today because I am sneaking in a post here at work. I figured it was time that I update all y'all on my knitting. Which I haven't been posting about because I am just working on finishing some of the 18 on going projects I unearthed last month. So far so good! The Irish Hiking Scarf is about 10" from being finished and as soon as that one is wrapped up, I am going to Finally start a new project. And I can't wait! I am going to start the Rebecca #32 Lacey Hoodie. Chaun finished up hers back in October and Marieke is scooting right along on the back of hers. I do have two short sleeve sweaters I want to make but I might as well do the long sleeved one in hopes that we get some more winter weather for me to wear it in.

One of my recently completed projects was a blanket made of Homespun (3 strands held together knit on size 19's...never again!) for Kalah. I did not take any pictures of the blanket in hopes she would post them up on her site... Maybe by the time you read this and head over to her blog to see her blanket, she will have posted pictures for you... (hint, hint) :)

And one thing I forgot to mention...for my birthday Chaun got me a hank of Euroflax Linen and the mesh bag pattern to go along with it. Very cool! I want to have that done for the summer days at the beach. Well, in September when we actually get sunny days. And speaking of my birthday, it was wonderful! It was a day full of phone calls, text messages, and emails from all my friends and family. I was stressed on that day (no, not because I was turning ... old) and it turned into a very lovely day. :)

Time to head back to the drudgery. Maybe this weekend I will get around to posting some progress pictures.

Early Birthdays are the Best!

On Saturday I went over to Chauntel's house (as usual) and had a birthday celebration with the Andreasen's. See, Chaun and her mom collaborated on one of the most wonderful presents I have ever received. They made me a quilt. Chauntel picked out the fabrics and mailed them to her mom who proceeded to make me a beautiful quilt. I absolutely love it! It's a quilt made from love.
Also, as an early birthday present, I got a new lens for my new camera from my dad. I wasn't supposed to open it until Thursday but due to a fluke in the packaging, I was able to figure it out and decided to use it early. It was a macro lens!! As soon as I stop being intimidated by the camera, you will start to see more photos. I have already lapsed on my APAW commitment. Doesn't mean I haven't taken any, I just haven't posted them. Soon you will be inundated. I promise.

No Knitting Here!

Working Saturdays, I never know what I am going to get. I could be super busy or I can have no clients. Today, it's a mix. So, in the slow times, I am wandering the internets. I came across this. It is interesting how these types of personality profiles are not based on anything related to you and your personality but they end up being 50-75% correct. So, take a moment and get to know the "inner" me.

You entered: Tracy Ellen Anderson
There are 18 letters in your name. Those 18 letters total to 79There are 6 vowels and 12 consonants in your name.

What your first name means:
Latin Male Bold.
Greek Male Harvester.

Your number is: 7

The characteristics of #7 are: Analysis, understanding, knowledge, awareness, studious, meditating.

The expression or destiny for #7:Thought, analysis, introspection, and seclusiveness are all characteristics of the expression number 7. The hallmark of the number 7 is a good mind, and especially good at searching out and finding the truth. You are so very capable of analyzing, judging and discriminating, that very little ever escapes your observation and deep understanding. You are the type of person that can really get involved in a search for wisdom or hidden truths, often becoming an authority on whatever it is your are focusing on. This can easily be of a technical or scientific nature, or it may be religious or occult, it matters very little, you pursue knowledge with the same sort of vigor. You can make a very fine teacher, or because of a natural inclination toward the spiritual, you may become deeply emerged in religious affairs or even psychic explorations. You tend to operate on a rather different wavelength, and many of your friends may not really know you very well. The positive aspects of the 7 expression are that you can be a true perfectionist in a very positive sense of the word. You are very logical, and usually employ a quite rational approach to most things you do. You can be so rational at times that you almost seem to lack emotion, and when you are faced with an emotional situation, you may have a bit of a problem coping with it. You have excellent capabilities to study and learn really deep and difficult subjects, and to search for hidden fundamentals. At full maturity you are likely to be a very peaceful and poised individual.
If there is an over supply of the number 7 in your makeup, the negative aspects of the number may be apparent. The chief negative of 7 relates to the limited degree of trust that you may have in people. A tendency to be highly introverted can make you a bit on the self-centered side, certainly very much self-contained . Because of this, you are not very adaptable, and you may tend to be overly critical and intolerant. You really like to work alone, at your own pace and in your own way. You neither show or understand emotions very well.

Your Soul Urge number is: 5
A Soul Urge number of 5 means: The 5 soul urge or motivation would like to follow a life of freedom, excitement, adventure and unexpected happening. The idea of travel and freedom to roam intrigues you. You are very much the adventurer at heart. Not particularly concerned about your future or about getting ahead, you can seem superficial and unmotivated.
In a positive sense, the energies of the number 5 make you very adaptable and versatile. You have a natural resourcefulness and enthusiasm that may mark you as a progressive with a good mind and active imagination. You seem to have a natural inclination to be a pace-setter. You are attracted to the unusual and the fast paced.
You may be overly restless and impatient at times. You may dislike the routine work that you are engaged in, and tend to jump from activity to activity, without ever finishing anything. You may have difficulty with responsibility. You don't want to be tied down to a relationship, and it may be hard to commit to one person.

Your Inner Dream number is: 11
An Inner Dream number of 11 means: You dream of casting the light of illumination; of being the true idealist. You secretly believe there is more to life than we can know or prove, and you would like to be provider of the 'word' from on high.

What the...?!

Would you like to know what I remembered today? I remembered 2 more projects I have on needles. And for me to have forgotten them, they must be small, right? No. Oh no, they had to be blankets. How in the world did I forget two blankets!!! So, I made the executive decision to frog all socks. There, I am back at 16 projects on needles. See how easy that was!! Whew! I guess I should actually finish some of the projects instead of just letting them languish. So this is the new plan: I am currently finishing up a pair of felted ballet slippers for display at Knit & Pearl*. I will then pick up one of the blankets I remembered today and finish that up. Then the Babette blanket. Then? Who knows, that's enough for now. :) I still can't believe I forgot two blankets.

*I am making the display to advertise for the class I will be teaching on the Ballet Slippers. If you are interested in learning how to make these really cute, super easy slippers, please contact Julie at Knit & Pearl 963-3930.

Happy New Year!

I was having a problem after finishing the shawl of what to work on next. I was pretty sure I had a project or two on needles that I could pick up... Try sixteen. Sixteen projects on needles/hooks. I sat on my floor yesterday and catalogued allllll yarn and projects. I now have a record of what I have and how much I have. It was a task, let me tell you! This first picture is of the process:

This next photo is the finished product:

Now that we have that done with, let's have a little chitchat about ALL of the current projects. Let me list them for you, in the order that I found them:

  1. Michael Kors sweater, Mainline Cream
  2. Candle Flame Scarf , HPY Merino Rose/Brown
  3. Felted Slippers, Noro Kureyon
  4. Clapotis, Lion & Lamb Vera
  5. Socks, Unknown manufacturer, Fake Fair Isle
  6. Jaywalker Socks, HandDyed yarn
  7. Cotton Washcloth, Sugar & Cream
  8. Morning Surf Scarf, Cashmere Brown/Green
  9. Irish Hiking Scarf, Drops Alpaca Pink
  10. Brown Cherry, WotA & Merino Style
  11. Ruched Blanket, Silk Natural (Officially the oldest project on needles)
  12. Spiral Hexagon Shawl, (C) KP Lace Natural (technically, I haven't started this one)
  13. Legwarmers, my own pattern, Andean Treasure Summer Sky & Woods
  14. Kyoto, CottonEase Pink, Blue, Black
  15. Mix n' Mingle Blanket
  16. Babette, (C) Wool of the Andes multicolor

And if that wasn't enough, the following projects are upcoming. I have the pattern, I have the yarn, I just don't have the time.

  1. Rebecca Sweater #15, EcoWool Natural
  2. Endpaper Mittenettes, Patons Grace Black & Spearmint
  3. Pimlico Shrug, Mister Joe Espresso

And there you have it. Wow, I say! Even Chauntel was surprised at what I have on needles. I think my focus will become finishing up some of these projects. I am falling back in love with the Babette blanket. So, that will become my main project for awhile. :)

Happy New Year! May this year bring you pleasant surprises and many happy days.
